The Senator Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation (SSACO) has condoled with the family of the driver of Crown Football Club, Mr Yinusa Popoola Amole, who lost his life in an accident on Ijebu-Ode Road.

The Ajilete Warriors were on their way to Ijebu-Ode for the AFH Pre-Season Tournament ahead of the 2026/2027 NNL season when tragedy struck. The club has now confirmed the painful death of its driver, Mr Amole, 54, who gave up the ghost on Thursday night after battling injuries from the crash.

In a condolence message personally signed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli described the incident as a dagger to the heart of Oyo State football.

Senator Alli said: “I received with rude shock and profound grief the news of the accident involving our dear Crown Football Club, Ogbomoso. My heart bleeds for the Crown family.

“This is heartbreaking in its rawest form. To lose Mr Yinusa Amole, a loyal, dedicated and hardworking man who died in active service to our darling state, is devastating. He was not just a driver; he was part of the engine room of Crown FC. His death is a sad loss.

“I condole with the immediate family he left behind, the Chairman, Management, technical crew, players, supporters and the entire people of Ogbomoso. No words can be enough at this moment.

“I also pray for the speedy and complete recovery of our injured players and officials who are currently receiving treatment. May God speed up their healing.”

Alli noted that Crown FC remains the pride of Oyo State and a symbol of resilience, and expressed solidarity with the club at this dark hour.

Senator Alli prayed that God would grant the Crown FC family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
