Before the 2015 general election, President Muhammed Buhari appeared to be the last hope of common Nigerians through his assumed integrity, corruption crusade, and all other promises attached to his campaign note.
Corruption was and still is one of the challenges Nigeria is facing as a country. The economic aspect appears to be the everyday problem from inflation and continuous increase in the prices of goods and services. It is over seven years now, yet none of them have been seriously tackled.
Insecurity was and still is one of the burning issues in Nigeria most especially in the Northeast part of the country, All of these were and still number one problems faced daily and, It has taken a new dimension, and unfortunately, is still a problem to beat.
Some of these challenges can be best described as the heart of any surviving and striving country. Security, economy, and corruption. However, None of these has been tackled successfully rather than getting worse.
Then, What legacy is Mr. President leaving behind as a strong point to campaign for his party ahead 2023 election.
Some days ago, The National Chairman of the All progressive congress, Senator Abdullahi Adamu was asked this question by An Arise TV journalist about the legacy of the president and what he would be remembered for when he leaves office. Unfortunately, The Chairman couldn’t give a valid response to that question.
There are many issues to be fixed ahead of the 2023 general election and for the ruling party to come into power again, They must be addressed rightly, some of which are the president’s body language and carefree attitudes towards the crisis in the party.
The President’s body language toward the current ASUU strike and the increase in fuel prices in recent times will be a setback if not addressed as soon as possible.
