Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, Accord governorship candidate in Oyo state has advised traditional rulers in the state not to fall for the trick of a 10% increase in the constitutional allocation due to traditional rulers as promised by the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde.

Makinde had in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa said traditional institutions would soon begin to get 10 percent of the net allocations due to the local government areas in their domains.

The governor made this pronouncement in Egbeda Local Government in Ibadan on Saturday while addressing traditional rulers in the council area.

Reacting to the statement by the governor, the Bayo Adelabu Campaign Organisation advised the traditional rulers not to fall for his usual tricks to deceive the masses.

According to Oyoinsight.com, BACO made the statement available to journalists in Ibadan saying, the local administration under Governor Seyi Makinde has suffered a lot of setbacks compared to the past governments.

BACO noted that even the constitutional allocation, which was pegged at five percent, has not been fully paid since all funds allocated for the local government administration have been diverted by the current administration.

“How can the governor who had denied local governments in the state the allocations constitutionally due to them to run local government administration and even failed to pay the five percent constitutional allocations as expected pay his dubious proposed increase of 10 percent?

“We heard some of the traditional rulers do go to their meetings on motorbikes via bad roads. All these sudden promises which would not be fulfilled are a ploy to woo the traditional rulers so they can get to the grassroots to win forthcoming elections,” BACO said

The Bayo Adelabu Campaign Organization hereby advises the traditional rulers and the entire good people of Oyo state never to listen to a second chapter of lies from Governor Seyi Makinde who always promises to build bridges where there are no rivers. We can recall that the same Seyi Makinde had earlier promised that his administration shall begin to export maize to Botswana which he is yet to harvest.
