A reporter with the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS Lekan Shobowale, and his cameraman Folorunsho Abiola were on Saturday attacked by suspected political thugs.
The incident was reported to have occurred in the Onigbongbo area of Lagos State.
The crew which consists of a driver, cameraman, and reporter were on election monitoring duties when the thugs led by a woman who claimed to be an observer queried the presence of the crew around the pooling units after which they made efforts to forcefully collect the camera.
Also, the attacker in a dramatic style beat up members of the United Nations Observer team in what they described as their intimidating presence at the pooling units area.
An eye witness Engr Ajibade Adetayo told BCOS that the crew was attacked because of the game plan already put in place by a particular political party.
He added that a form to be signed after the election exercise was also said to have been signed already by a political party.
