The former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, has warned and cried out against the duo of Yusuf Akinade (Bashorun) and Wakeel Oyedepo (Laguna).
The duo are two of a 7-man Chieftaincy Council charged with input into the crowning of an Alaafin to the exalted traditional stool.
According to Sunmonu, the Bashorun of Oyo invited himself unannounced to her Ibadan residence on 21st October 2022. She also revealed that she had witnesses and evidence from that day.
According to Sunmonu, “Baba Bashorun should remember that without invitation or notice he turned up at my house on the morning of 21st October 2022. I strongly advise him to remember the confessions he made that day in the presence of others and therefore cease his attempted blackmail of my personality, since I was not part of the atrocities he committed. The time will come when the truth will prevail and all will be said”
In the stern warning, Sunmonu said that she was not appealing to Bashorun, but was warning him not to soil his chieftaincy by forcing revelations of what he said on 21st October 2022.
