The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo Federal Constituency, Barr. Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu (Seun TNA), has donated three Bajaj motorcycles and ₦1.5 million to three major commercial motorcycle groups in Oyo.

The beneficiaries were representatives of the Park Management System (PMS), ACOMORAN and Orisun, who met with Ashamu and other political and community leaders during an engagement with transport stakeholders in the town.

Among those present were Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu; the Chairman of Oyo West Local Government, Hon. Salam Akeem Olukitibi; the Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Sola Oluokun; the Vice Chairman of Oyo West Local Government, Hon. Alade Nureni Adesola; APM chairmen from across Oyo Federal Constituency; party leader, Alhaji Isiaka Adebayo; Director-General of the Seun Ashamu Campaign Council, Hon. Shakiru Ojo; and other members of the campaign council.

Speaking at the gathering, Ojo addressed members of the transport community on the forthcoming elections and the APM’s activities across the constituency.

The Oyo West and Oyo East Local Government Chairmen, Hon. Akeem Olukitibi and Hon. Sola Oluokun also spoke about ongoing efforts by his administration to reconstruct inner roads across the local governments, saying further interventions were being planned.

In her remarks, Senator Sunmonu recalled some of her interventions during her time as Speaker of the state and also at the Senate and addressed the transport groups on the forthcoming elections.

Ashamu thanked the leaders and members of the groups for the opportunity to engage with them and spoke about the importance of maintaining regular interaction with professional and grassroots organisations.

At the close of the meeting, each of the three groups received a Bajaj motorcycle, while a total of ₦1.5 million was also presented to the associations.

Speaking on behalf of the transport community, Alhaji Oladele Mumini, Joint Chairman of the PMS, Oyo Zone, popularly known as Omo Alhaja, thanked Ashamu for the donation and offered prayers for him and the APM.

He also offered prayers for Alhaji Abdul-Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa, seeking continued guidance, protection and success for him.

The chairmen of the three groups expressed appreciation for the motorcycles and financial support, while members of the gathering responded with solidarity chants at the conclusion of the event.

The meeting formed part of Ashamu’s ongoing engagements with professional, community and grassroots groups across Afijio, Atiba, Oyo East and Oyo West ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.
